What are the benefits of reading and listening to Surah Waqiah? Quran is a sacred book of Islam read by millions of Muslims across the globe. It is one of the most authentic scriptures, and it is directly revealed to Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W).

Surah Waqiah has 96 verses, and it is called Surah Al-Waqiah in accordance with the 1st verse, which is Al-Waqiah, meaning doomsday. The theme of Surah Waqiah

Allah teaches us to pray, and Quran is the best way to remember Allah. Surah Waqiah is a Makki Surah in which Allah talks about the left companions, the proper companions, and the forerunners. Each is rewarded or punished on the day of judgment.

This surah describes the reward for good people as being provided with jeweled thrones, fruits, silk, and many other blessings. But the people who did wrong deeds in their life will be deprived of such benefits and face the consequences of their actions.

Surah Waqiah also reminds people how Allah has given us countless blessings, and it also reminds us that we are bound to return to Him after death.

In Surah Waqiah, Allah says

“And you become three kinds: Then the companions of the right, what are the companions of the right? And the companions of the left, what are the companions of the left? And the forerunners, the forerunners, those are the ones brought near [to Allah]. In the Gardens of Pleasure, A [large] company of the former peoples. And a few of the later peoples” (56:7-14).

Benefits of Reading and Listening Surah Waqiah

Quran has given us verses that we can recite and ask Allah’s forgiveness and have His blessings. The importance of this Surah can be considered from this Hadith. Hazrat Muhammad (S.A.W) said,

“Whoever reads Al-Waqiah’s letter at any time then he will not be infidel disbelief.”

1. Protect You from Poverty

If a person recites or listens to Surah Waqiah, he will get a significant reward. One of the essential benefits of Surah Waqiah is that it can protect you from poverty and any financial constraints. Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H) is reported to have said that:

“If anyone recites a letter from Allah’s Book, he will be credited with a good deed, and a good deed gets a tenfold reward. I do not say that Alif-Lam-Mim is one letter, but Alif is a letter, Lam is a letter, and Mim is a letter” (Al-Tirmidhi).

2. Provides you Wealth

Reciting surah Waqiah will help you get wealth. If you have difficulty finding means to earn money, you can recite verses of this surah. According to a hadith, “Teach the Al-Waqiah surah to your wives. Because he is indeed a surah of Wealth”.

3. Deliver Fortune

The practice of reciting and listening to this surah provides you a fortune. Many Sufi people recite this surah after Maghrib prayer to remember Allah and fear from the day of judgment.

4. Relieve Pain and Stress

If people read surah Waqiah when they are sick, Allah will heal their sufferings and illness. People also read this surah beside dying person to ease the spirit out of the body.

5. To Avoid Disbelief

Unfaithfulness is one the most hated thing by Allah. Don’t despair of His mercy, and read this surah to avoid such a condition. The person who reads this surah daily will remain hopeful and happy.

6. Rewarded on Day of Judgement

Those who want to be in heaven will have to recite, listen, and understand what this surah is. This surah tells us about the types of people who will be punished on the day of judgment. You can learn and do good deeds so that you are among those who will receive a reward on this day.

In Surah Waqiah, Allah says,

And if the deceased was of those brought near to Allah, then rest and bounty and a garden of pleasure. And suppose he was of the companions of the right. In that case, the angels will say, “Peace for you because you are from the companions of the right.” But if he was of the deniers who were astray, then for him is an accommodation of scalding water. And burning in Hellfire.” (56:88-94).
