Holy Prophet (S.A.W) also mentioned the importance of the last ten nights of Ramadan, including Laylatul Qadr. He said: “Whoever establishes the prayers on the night of Qadr out of sincere faith and hoping to attain Allah’s rewards (not to show off) then all his past sins will be forgiven. (Hadith Bukhari Vol 1, Book 2.34).

What is the Dua for Laylatul Qadr

There are many Dua’s you can make on the night of Laylatul Qadr. Hazrat Aisha (R.A) once asked Holy Prophet (S.A.W) “O Rasual Allah, if I witnessed and was able to tell that it is the night of decree, Laylatul-Qadr, then what kind of dua should I make?” on which Holy Prophet replied: “O Allah you are afw and love to implement afw so, please have afw upon me” (Sahih At-Tirmidhi).

This is the night in which, from Maghrib to Fajr, you can pray and make dua. This time is more valuable than 1000 months. And if you give charity, it will be worth more in this time of Ramadan than on other days.

Laylatul Qadr is when the book of guidance was revealed to Holy Prophet (S.A.W). This is the night when Allah shower mercy, blessing, and peace on the whole world. So, if you pray and ask Allah for his blessing, he will surely shower more blessings in your life.

اَللَّهُمَّ إِنَّكَ عَفْوٌ تٌحِبٌّ العَفْوَ فَأَعْفَوْ عَنِّي

“Oh Allah! You are most forgiving, you love to forgive, so forgive me”.

Dua 2 for Laylatul Qadr

Translation:

“O who causes the night to pass into the day, and the day to pass into the night. O (One) brings forth the living from the dead and brings forth the dead from the living. O the Provider of sustenance for whomever He pleases, without measure. O Allah, O Beneficent, O Allah, O Merciful. O Allah, O Allah, O Allah, you have the most beautiful names, the highest examples, the grandeur, the bounties. I pray You too, bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, and place my name, in this night, among the fortunate. My soul among the martyrs, let my good deeds be (written) in the ‘Illiyyin (Book of the virtuous), and my evil deeds are forgiven”.

“(And I beseech You to) grant me a certainty which gives joy to my heart, and a faith which drives doubt away from me, and make me pleased with what You have granted me. (And I beseech You to) Give us good in this world, and good in the Hereafter, and save us from the punishment of the burning fire. (HQ 2:201) (And I beseech You to) grant me in it (Laylatul Qadr) Your remembrance, and Your gratitude, and desire for (pleasing) You, turning (to You for repentance), and success, for all that You have granted Muhammad and his family, peace be on him and them”.

Significance of Laylatul Qadr in Islam

Quran and Hadith both are filled with some references that signify the importance of Laylatul Qadr. You can recite dua for Laylatul Qadr and make a strong bond with your creator.

“We sent it (Quran) down on a blessed Night. Verily, we are ever warning. Therein (in that Night) is decreed every matter of ordainment. Amran (i.e., a command or this Quran or His Decree of every matter) from Us. Verily, we are ever sending (the Messenger) (As) a Mercy from your Lord” (44: 3-6).

You have to stay up and pray for the whole night if you want to be in the good books of Allah and go to heaven on the day of judgment. So every Muslim should pray and hope for the blessings and rewards associated with Laylatul Qadr.
