Islam is the Abrahamic religion which means “submission to the will of God.” The fundamental belief of Islam is “There is no God but Allah, and Muhammad is the messenger of Allah”. People who follow Islam are called Muslims. Islam is a complete faith that provides Muslims with a comprehensive way of life.
Quran is the holy book of Islam, and it consists of Allah’s revelations to the Prophet Muhammad. Quran was collected during the 7th-century C.E over 23 years. All the revelations were written by scribes when Muhammad pronounced them in sermons and gatherings. At the request of the first caliph of Islam, Hazrat Abu Bakr, the verses and chapters were collected in a book, and that book has been the Holy book for Muslims.

The Quran
Quran is the holy book for Muslims of all world, and its content is the wisdom of Allah to his followers. Quran is divided into sections called Juz, chapters (called surah), and verses (Ayat).
The word Quran is derived from an Arabic word that means “to read.” It is believed that the first five verses of Surah 96 were the first to be revealed to the Holy Prophet.
The first revealed verse was: “Recite in the name of your Lord who created” (The Holy Qur’an 96:1). The first five verses of Surah 96 (Surah Al Alaq) were revealed together.
The last revealed verse was (9 days before the death of Prophet Muhammad PBUH): “And fear that Day when you will be returned to Allah” (The Holy Qur’an 2:281).
Story of Creation in Quran
In Quran, the story of creation is mentioned.
“Allah created heavens and earth and all that is between them in six days.” He created Adam and Eve to start life on Earth. Adam is the first Prophet of Islam.
Claims of Islam About Quran
Allah is the speaker in all surahs except the first surah and a prayer addressed to Allah. The entire Quran was revealed to Holy Prophet by Angel Jabril. Quran is the unique revelation of Allah.
In Quran, it is mentioned, “And this Quran is not such as could be forged by those besides Allah, but it is a verification of that which is before it and a clear explanation of the book” (The Holy Qur’an 10:37).
Quran: Way of Life
Quran gives us complete conduct of life and addresses all the issues Muslims will ever face till the day of judgment. Quran gives us complete guidance and teaches us how to live, behave, love, give charity, be humble, pray, and keep fast. Quran teaches us Dua’s for every occasion like dua for sleeping, eating etc.
Quran also mentioned living with peace and avoiding violence. In Quran, “As for those who divide their religion and break up into sects, you have no part of them in the least. Their affair is with Allah; He will, in the end, tell them the truth of all that they did.” (The Holy Qur’an 6:159).
