In Islamic tradition, dua (supplication) is a powerful tool for seeking protection and guidance from Allah. As a Muslim, it is important to remember that Allah is always there for us, and He is the ultimate protector. When we recite duas for protection against harm, we are putting our trust in Allah and asking Him to keep us safe and secure. Here are some powerful duas for protection against harm:

1. Ayatul Kursi:

Ayatul Kursi is one of the most powerful verses in the Quran. It is believed to provide protection against all kinds of harm. You can recite Ayatul Kursi after every prayer or at any time of the day.

ٱللَّهُ لَآ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ٱلْحَىُّ ٱلْقَيُّومُ ۚ لَا تَأْخُذُهُۥ سِنَةٌۭ وَلَا نَوْمٌۭ ۚ لَّهُۥ مَا فِى ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ ۗ مَن ذَا ٱلَّذِى يَشْفَعُ عِندَهُۥٓ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِهِۦ ۚ يَعْلَمُ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَمَا خَلْفَهُمْ ۖ وَلَا يُحِيطُونَ بِشَىْءٍۢ مِّنْ عِلْمِهِۦٓ إِلَّا بِمَا شَآءَ ۚ وَسِعَ كُرْسِيُّهُ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ ۖ وَلَا يَـُٔودُهُۥ حِفْظُهُمَا ۚ وَهُوَ ٱلْعَلِىُّ ٱلْعَظِيمُ ٢٥٥

Allah! There is no god ˹worthy of worship˺ except Him, the Ever-Living, All-Sustaining. Neither drowsiness nor sleep overtakes Him. 

To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who could possibly intercede with Him without His permission? He ˹fully˺ knows what is ahead of them and what is behind them, but no one can grasp any of His knowledge—except what He wills to reveal. His Seat1 encompasses the heavens and the earth, and the preservation of both does not tire Him. For He is the Highest, the Greatest

(Quran 2:255)

2. Surah Al-Falaq:

Surah Al-Falaq is one of the short surahs in the Quran. It is believed to provide protection against all kinds of evil and harm. You can recite Surah Al-Falaq after every prayer or at any time of the day.

قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ ٱلْفَلَقِ ١

Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “I seek refuge in the Lord of the daybreak

مِن شَرِّ مَا خَلَقَ ٢

from the evil of whatever He has created,

وَمِن شَرِّ غَاسِقٍ إِذَا وَقَبَ ٣

and from the evil of the night when it grows dark,

وَمِن شَرِّ ٱلنَّفَّـٰثَـٰتِ فِى ٱلْعُقَدِ ٤

and from the evil of those ˹witches casting spells by˺ blowing onto knots,

وَمِن شَرِّ حَاسِدٍ إِذَا حَسَدَ ٥

and from the evil of an envier when they envy.

(Quran 113)

3. Du’a for Protection from Evil Eye:

The evil eye is a common belief in Muslim culture, where people believe that someone can cause harm to others through envy or jealousy. This dua is for protection against the evil eye.

أَعُوذُ بِكلِمَاتِ الله التّامّاتِ مِن شَرّ مَا خَلَقَ

A’uzu bikalimatillahit-tammaati min syarri ma kholak

I seek protection in the perfect words of Allah from every evil that has been created 

(Sahih Muslim)

4. Du’a for Protection from All Kinds of Harm:

This dua is for general protection against all kinds of harm.

 بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الَّذِي لَا يَضُرُّ مَعَ اسْمِهِ شَيْءٌ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلَا فِي السَّمَاءِ وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ

Bismillahil-lazi la yadhurru ma’asmihi syai’un fil ardhi wa la fis-sama’i wa huwas-Sami’ul ‘Aleem

“I seek the Protection of Allah by means of which one can save himself from every vice, whether it is an animal or man, a jinn or Satan because He is Aware of everyone’s condition and Capable of hearing everybody’s petition. He who comes in His Protection none can harm him, except that which He wills.”

 (Abu Dawud & At- Tirmidhi: Book 16, Hadith 1457)

5. Dua for forgiveness and well-being: 

 Muslims recite duas for various purposes, including seeking forgiveness and well-being. Here is a powerful dua for seeking forgiveness and well-being that you can recite:

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ الْعَفْوَ وَالْعَافِيَةَ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالآخِرَةِ

Allahumma inni as’alukal-’afwa wal ‘afiyah fid-dunya wal-akhirah

O Allah, I seek Your forgiveness and my well-being in this world and the Hereafter 

6. Dua for Health Protection:

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ البَرَصِ وَالْجُنُونِ وَالْجُذَامِ وَمِنْ سَيِّئِ الْأَسْقَامِ

Allhumma inni a’udhu bika minal barasi wal jununi wal judhami wa min sayyi-il asqam

O Allah, I seek refuge in You from Leprosy, madness, elephantiasis, and evil diseases

(Sunan Abi Dawud, Hadith: 1549 and Sahih Ibn Hibban; Al Ihsan, Hadith: 1017)

7. Protection dua for leaving the House:

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ عَلَى اللَّهِ لاَ حَوْلَ وَلاَ قُوَّةَ إِلاَّ بِاللَّهِ

Bismillahi tawakkaltu alallahi la hawla wala quwwata illa billah

“In the name of Allah, I trust in Allah; there is no might and no power but in Allah”

(Sunan Abi Dawud 5095, Book 43, Hadith 323)

In addition to these duas, it is essential to seek protection by performing good deeds, seeking knowledge, and staying away from sinful actions. We should also seek refuge in Allah by reciting the Quran regularly and making dua for ourselves and our loved ones.
